This travel diary page describes my extreme day trip to Rome and the Vatican City on my way back to London.
My day started with a train ride from Formia to Rome. I like the double-decker trains in Italy!
Even though I live in London, the crowds in Rome are something else! This is the busiest place I have been so far, but there are many good reasons for this. I have been to Rome before, so I knew my way around.
I also went to the Vatican City, because no trip to Rome would be complete without it.
For a good viewpoint over Rome, I would recommend Terrazza del Pincio. On the way up to it, you get many opportunities to take photos of different areas of central Rome.
In the evening, I got on my flight back to London.
Summary of this trip: 6 days, 3 countries, 5 towns/cities, over 73.61 km, 154,090 steps.
Overall, it was a great trip! I am happy I didn’t give up halfway and I ended up in Formia – I love this place and I will definitely be back!
